TamarindArt Council is delighted to host an evening of pulse-pounding rhythm with a master percussionist from Bollywood, Sivamani, on 29 June 2009 at 6:30pm. Sivamani is a gifted musician who has mastered over 100 instruments and has composed scores for numerous critically acclaimed films in India. He has worked with many distinguished musicians such as A. R. Rahman, who composed the scores for "Bombay Dreams" and academy award winner "Slumdog Millionaire." Sivamani has performed in Singapore, London, South Africa and New York spreading the rhythm of India across the world. In the summer of 2007 when Tamarind Art presented Sivamani through a music event, Sivamani shook the New York crowd by a storm. Tamarind Art is delighted to present Sivamani once again.
This is an opportunity for New Yorkers to see the ultimate percussionist Sivamani perform at TamarindArt Council.

About Sivamani
Born in India, Sivamani is the son of a musician, who did not wish for his child to follow in his footsteps. This did not stop Sivamani who began creating his own instruments when his father refused to buy him any. It is the spirit of innovation that is a hallmark of Sivamani's work. For over three decades Sivamani has been a composer for Indian films and has performed in many
solo concerts all over the globe.
